patterns of the multitude
Light Gallery + Studio (Grand Rapids, MI)
Inspired by my experience at the Women's March on Washington, this show examines the beautiful repetition of people, shapes, and energy that could be seen in the crowd that day. The technique for many of these pieces developed from traditional woodcuts that were scanned and then digitally manipulated with photography and drawing. This process creates both delicate and stark layers that echo the patterns created by the masses of people as they morphed and flowed through the streets.
